Eyeshadow

Different coloured eye shadows compliment different eye colours and shapes.
"Eye shadow can be either cream, powder or liquid form and can be applied to the eyelid and around the eye with a brush or a finger. It is used to enhance the eye shape, and to bring out the eye colour.
Certain eye shadow shades enhance different eye colors particularly effectively - grey and purple eye shadow looks amazing on blue eyes, golds and deep charcoal greys are great for green eyes, and brown eyes shimmer in golds and coppers. Brown eye shadow suits every skin tone and every eye color - it's just a matter of finding the right one!
The classic way to wear eye shadow is with a light color on the lid, mid-tone on the crease and the darkest color (usually a black or brown) along the lashline. Eye shadows can be matte or shimmery, and the general principle is that shimmers bring areas forward (so you wouldn't normally put shimmer in the crease, for instance). Shading in the crease of the eye enhances the bone structure, and deepening the lower lash line with a thin eye shadow brush and a darker colored shadow will enhance the eye shape and make for a more seductive eye.
Brands that make lovely eye shadows are Chanel, NARS, MAC, Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown, and at a cheaper price point L'Oreal and MyFace are good options." - Make Up Mole.
Eyeliner

Eyeliner defines the eye and can change its shape. It comes in different types which can create very different looks. Eyeliner is usually black as it's the most flattering, but also comes in dark purple, green, blue and even crazier colours like gold and orange! Here are the different types of eyeliner:
-Liquid eyeliner
This one takes a bit of practice but is worth it. Liquid eyeliner is very dark and applied with a thin brush. Done properly, it gives a very precise and defined look. Think 1960s eyes.
-Kohl
Kohl used to be used by the Ancient Egyptians to protect their eyes against the sun. They drew thick lines around their eyes to stop the glare from the sun bouncing off the sand and into their eyes (thus creating the first form of sunglasses!). Today people still use kohl, which is dark heavy pencil, round their eyes.
-Pens
Eyeliner pens are easier to control than bulky kohl and fiddly liquid eyeliner. Pen eyeliner is smooth and easy to apply. Barry M has a really good cheap, but very effective, eye pen, available in different shades.
Mascara

Honestly, if you are running late and don't have time to apply any of the above, go for this one. Mascara instantly makes your eyes stand out and flatters them, making you more alert and your gaze attractive. Mascara comes in many different colours and types. The shape of the brush affects how the eyelashes will curl. The main types are lengthening, volumising and waterproof. Some people also use eyelash curlers but personally I find they're too much of a faf.
